A complex approach is used in order to establish the
authenticity of a painting. This involves an historical and artistic analysis together
with the analysis of data obtained with the assistance of physical and chemical research.
Studying the artistic devices and idiosyncrasies of the composition, colour scheme and
artistic manner and comparing this with the authentic work, supplemented by data from
x-ray, infra-red and ultra-violet research allow us to be maximally exact in determining
when and by whom the work was made. |
